i-dle’s MIYEON: “Every Title Track Carries the Message to Love and Value Yourself” | CLASSY. Interview

As one of K-pop’s most distinctive self-produced groups, i-dle continues to stand out through the individuality and creativity of each member. Now in the eighth year since their debut, the group has entered a bold new chapter with a renewed name, perfectly embodying the spirit of “Challenge is Beautiful.” Through music that reflects their determination to choose their own path rather than wait to be chosen, i-dle continues to evolve.

In this exclusive interview, we speak with MIYEON, whose clear, elegant vocals have become an essential part of i-dle’s signature sound.

—This is your first appearance in CLASSY. Could you introduce yourself?

I’m MIYEON, the main vocalist of i-dle. I’m so happy and honored that all five of us get to appear together in CLASSY.

—Which i-dle song would you recommend to CLASSY. readers?

Every one of our title tracks carries the message, “Love yourself and value yourself.” That’s true of songs like ‘Nxde’, ‘Queencard’, and ‘TOMBOY’. As I’ve performed and sung those songs, they’ve given me a great deal of courage as well.

—When do you feel most proud to be part of i-dle?

I feel it every time I stand on stage — I’m so proud that we get to perform songs that the members, myself included, created. Before every concert, we sit together and sing through the entire setlist. Every time we do that, I think, “Wow, we really worked so hard to create all of these songs.” It always makes me feel proud of what we’ve accomplished.

—Your world tour has begun. What has been on your mind as you’ve been traveling?

When you’re apart from close friends, you always say, “Let’s see each other soon.” That’s exactly how I feel about our fans. Now that we’ve finally made plans to meet again, I’m so excited and my heart is racing.

—Finally, do you have a message for your fans in Japan?

I’m so happy that we’ll be able to see each other again so soon. I’ve been studying Japanese for a long time, but I haven’t had many chances to actually speak it. This time, I hope we can communicate even more in Japanese. Please wait just a little longer. I love you!
